Kinesiology is a therapy that uses muscle testing to address imbalances in the body. This can be linked to emotion, physical or nutritional imbalances.

This therapy takes place with you lying on a coach, fully clothed. A muscle (generally the arm) is used and a light pressure is added to establish if the muscle is showing an imbalance.

Where an imbalance shows, the therapist then begins to search for the best form of therapy that would assist in readdressing this imbalance.

This can be in a form of applying pressure to acupuncture pressure points. Possible emotional links may require flowers formulas or positive affirmations. Nutrition also may show and the therapist guides the client to the preferred foods or supplements that would benefit them at this time.

Kinesiology was originally developed by an American chiropractor called George Goodheart. He found that by testing muscle response before and after he made chiropractic corrections he achieved better results for his patients. As time progressed he was able to make a connection between various muscles and acupuncture meridians. By testing these muscles the kinesiologist can get a picture of what is happening in your meridian system and how this may be affecting you.
